La Liga club, Valencia have announced the signing of 26-year-old Brentford star, Sergi Canos, for an undisclosed fee.

“Valencia CF and Brentford FC have reached an agreement for the signing of Sergi Canos on a four-year contract, through to June 30th, 2027,” read a statement on Valencia’s official website.

Canos is a graduate of the Barcelona academy. In 2014 he joined the youth team of “Liverpool”, and later played for “Norwich City” and “Brentford”. In the latter club, the winger spent seven seasons, helping the team secure a spot in the Premier League in 2021.

Only 12 players in history have played more games and scored more goals for Brentford than Canos. In total, he played 249 games for Brentford, 36 of which came in the Premier League. He scored 36 goals for the Bees.

In January 2023, Canos joined Greek Super League side Olympiacos on loan. He made eight appearances and scored four goals, with his season curtailed by injury.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding his future, though, and it has now been confirmed that he made the move to Valencia on a long-term deal.

Canos has become Los Che’s third signing of the summer market after Cenk Ozkacar and Pepelu. Valencia finished down in 16th position in La Liga last season, which proved to be their lowest spot at that level of football since being relegated to the Segunda Division in 1986.

Ruben Baraja’s side have made an excellent start to this campaign, beating Sevilla 2-1 and Las Palmas 1-0 in their first two matches to collect six points from an available six.
