JAMB Fraud: Innoson conducts independent investigation, speaks on stance on scholarship awarded
Innoson Group speaks on allegations of fraud by JAMB against Ejikeme Mmesoma, the top scorer in 2023 UTME exam, as they speak on their stance as regards scholarship awarded to her.
News made headlines some days ago of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) alleging that the top scorer in the 2023 UTME, Ejikeme Mmesoma, had forged her results.
While the accused student has gone online to refute this allegations with clips of her printed results, Innoson Group, which had awarded the young student university scholarship, has spoken up.
Cornel Osigwe, the company’s head of corporate communications, had stated that the girl he had met was incapable of doing such.
He noted that the company is carrying out its own independent investigation and would withdraw their scholarship if it is discovered that she had willfully manipulated her results; if found, however, that she didn’t, Cornel notes that the scholarship would stand, whether or not she’s the top scorer.
He wrote:
“We’re doing our independent investigation on the issue of manipulation, if we found that the girl willfully manipulated her result, we shall withdraw the scholarship, but if we observe she is innocent of the accusation, then the scholarship stands, whether she is the best or not.”
