“I will be more mindful of my conduct” – Prison officer who recorded inmates tenders apology

A female prison officer who went viral for making a video selfie of inmates has tendered a public apology for her action.

The prison officer who was seen in her work outfit was seen making a Tok-tok video that showed the faces of prisoners who were in a cell.

From the way she had recorded it, netizens had opined that she had intentionally made the video to capture the faces of the inmates which were seen behind bars.

After the video went viral, the female officer with the Tok-tok handle @OriginalDede4 came under fire as netizens lambasted her.

She deleted the video and tendered a public apology while promising to be more mindful of her conduct.

Her apology reads …

“Please accept my apologies for failing to
observe proper conduct in the course of my
duty. It was unethical and needless on my
part. I thought I was being human and
welcoming to the inmates but I realize my act
was uncalled for. I have since deleted that
post and take full responsibility for my action.
Rest assured that I have learned my lesson
and I’ll be more mindful of my actions from
now on.
Sincere apologies to all…l”
