Liverpool have officially appointed Arne Slot as their new head coach, marking the end of Jurgen Klopp’s nine-year stint.

Slot, who joins from Feyenoord, has signed a three-year contract and will begin his role on June 1.

The 45-year-old Dutchman boasts impressive resume, having led Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title in the 2022/23 season and being named Eredivisie Manager of the Year twice.

However, managing Liverpool will be a step up, given the club’s stature and the legacy left by Klopp.

Klopp, who took over Liverpool in 2015, transformed the club into a dominant force.

Under his leadership, Liverpool won the Champions League in the 2018/19 season and their first Premier League title in the 2019/20 season.

Additionally, Klopp’s tenure saw the Reds secure two Carabao Cups, including one in the just concluded season, and an FA Cup in the 2021/22 season.
