Drake did his claim to a legendary status no harm whatsoever after he obliterated a 32-year-old record held by Michael Jackson.

The King of pop had been nominated 11 times for  American Music Awards in 1984 (2 years before Drake was born) making him the most nominated artiste on that platform.

Drake did 2 better snagging 13 nominations for this year’s American Music Awards including nods for Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Song and Favorite R&B song, among others.

If he does win it’ll be his first win and with 13 nominations you wouldn’t want to bet against him winning at least.

His girlfriend (Ex-girlfriend?) Rihanna was just behind him with 7 nominations. The events will take place Nov. 20 at 8 p.m.

You can see the full list of nominees below.
