Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on Friday reportedly celebrated their Vice Chancellor, 61st birthday in a very unusual way.
Reports gathered that SSANU members who reportedly gathered on the motion ground celebrated Prof. Bamidele Oyewole 61st birthday today with a loaf of bread and a bottle of coke wrapped as a gift for the VC.
It will be recalled that the group recently called for the removal of the VC over alleged high-handedness and financial misappropriation in a protest.
The members also restricted the VC from further exercising any functions as official of the university.
EFCC, which is investigating the matter, has interrogated the two officials, but the university staff have continued with their protest, demanding his removal.
They added a new twist to their protest on Friday, by delivering the special birthday gift to his office…. coincidentally, he was met eating “Ewa Agoyin.”
Meanwhile, the school management directed all its students to pay a sum of N5,000 following the protest by the aggrieved students of the institution.
