Photos: Apple Announces iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus [New Colour, 12MP Camera & 3D Touch]

Apple CEO Tim Cook, announced the introduction of the iPhone 6S & 6S Plus, the new phone was announced at the tech brand’s annual September event a few hours ago.

This makes this the seventh iPhone design since the iconic phone launched. It will become available for sale from September 25th.

Colours & Design

The new phone comes in an added new colour: rose gold. All new iPhone models are now made with a brand new Apple custom alloy, the same alloys used in the aerospace industry. The Apple team has also introduced a new type of stronger glass for the display.

12 Mega Pixel Camera

With the likes of Nokia & Samsung churning out bad a$$ cameras, Apple has finally succumbed and added more megapixels to the iPhone camera, now offering a 12-megapixel camera. That’s a 50 percent improvement from earlier generations of the camera.

The perfect selfie: Apple has added a new front-facing flash feature that uses the LED screen to mimic a TrueTone flash which you would find on the back of the camera. The front-facing (selfie) camera has been upgraded to a 5-megapixel camera.

Perfect videos: The new camera is also capable of taking 4K video, which means each frame has 8 million pixels.

3D Touch

The new 3D touch feature is pressure sensitive and recognizes gentle and forceful touches to do different things on the phone. Using Force Touch users can hold down various apps to both ‘peek’ and ‘pop’. You could lightly tap on the content of an email to peek at the content inside, and if you press harder, the content you’re peeking at will pop open fully. Users can use Force Touch on all apps including social media!
