Floyd Mayweather might have won the “Fight of the Century” against Manny Pacquiao, expanding his streak to 48-0, but the audience at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas couldn’t care less about it and booed the champ following the fight.
The response on social media was no different. Taking to Twitter, many blamed Floyd for avoiding any intense situations throughout the bout and contributing to a generally boring match.
As well as conquering in the ring, it appears that Mayweather won the fight on Twitter.
He was mentioned over twice the amount of times that Pacquiao was during the fight.
3.4m tweets contained the American’s name, while just 1.6m contained the defeated Filipino’s name.

One Direction star Niall Horan wrote: “To be fair to Mayweather, a lot of people don’t like him but, he just gave a tactical masterclass tonight, doesn’t have a mark on his face”.

Former England left-back Ashley Cole also got in on the act. A Mayweather fan, Cole is hoping that Money’s win is the first of a triumphant sporting trilogy this weekend, as he hopes a Chelsea title win will follow AND he may even get a game for Roma.
