Rafael Nadal reached his eighth French Open final with a marathon 6-4 3-6 6-1 6-7 (3-7) 9-7 win over Novak Djokovic.

World number one Djokovic, looking to become only the second man to beat Nadal at Roland Garros, was broken in game seven as Nadal won the first set.

The Serb levelled the match, but won only 12 points in losing the third set.

Third seed Nadal lost a tie-break after serving for the match at 6-5 in the fourth, but came back from a break down to clinch a dramatic decider.
