Bundesliga: Bayern finish historic third in Kane’s first season after 4-2 defeat to Hoffenheim

Bayern Munich fell to third place on the final day of the German Bundesliga after 4-2 defeat to Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Although they were without star forward Harry Kane due to injury, Thomas Tuchel’s team squandered a 2-0 lead during the visit to Hoffenheim.

Bayern, who had maintained second place for most of the campaign, were leapfrogged by Stuttgart.

Stuttgart picked a 4-0 win at home against Borussia Monchengladbach, capitalizing on Bayern’s unexpected defeat.

The encounter marks the first time since the 2011/2012 season that Bayern Munich has finished as low as third in the Bundesliga.

While it was a disappointing campaign for the club, Kane had an impressive debut season, scoring 36 goals in 32 games and contributing to Bayern’s total of 94 goals.

Thomas Tuchel, who recently confirmed his departure from Bayern after a trophyless campaign, was left helpless after the encounter.
