Ancelotti confirms Thibaut Courtois will miss Bayern Munich clash

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Thibaut Courtois will be replaced with Andry Lunin in the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.

Lunin is expected to be in goal in the semi-final encounter at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Courtois has been sidelined despite his recent standout performance against Cadiz in the La Liga last weekend.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti has reiterated that the confirmation of their La Liga title would not disrupt their preparations for the up coming clash.

“Lunin will play if I don’t change my mind tonight. Yes, Lunin will play. Thibaut has played because he was very good, but he has to reach his best level,” Ancelotti stated.

Reflecting on Real Madrid’s continued success, Ancelotti attributed it to the squad’s ability to manage transitions and maintain consistency.

“This squad has managed this period very well. They are managing this transition that began long ago after Cristiano left,” he explained.

Despite securing their 36th Spanish La Liga title, the team refrained from celebrating with fans, with Ancelotti stating the need to maintain focus for their upcoming encounter.

“We had to control our joy to prepare for this game,” he remarked.
