Boniface converts from spot as Leverkusen extend unbeaten streak to 50 games in style

Bayer Leverkusen made history by extending their unbeaten streak to 50 matches with a 5-0 win over Bochum.

Bochum’s hopes of picking a point to ensure their top-flight place suffered an early setback.

Felix Passlack was sent off in the 15th minute for a foul on Nathan Tella, leaving them with ten men.

Leverkusen capitalized on their numbers as Patrik Schick opened the scoring with a well-placed finish from Arthur’s cross.

Victor Boniface then doubled Leverkusen’s lead from the penalty spot after Tella was brought down in the box.

Despite being a man down, Bochum tried making efforts to score with Kevin Stöger and Robert Andrich coming close.

However, Leverkusen continued a merciless run, with Amine Adli adding to the scoresheet.

Josip Stanisic and Alex Grimaldo completed the party, helping Xabi Alonso’s side to keep their incredible run of form this season..
