Ancelotti on Kroos’ Ballon d’Or chances: “I would like it, but he won’t win”

Real Madrid continued their dominant season with a 5-0 win over Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

The victory extended their unbeaten streak in La Liga this season to 30 matches.

Thibaut Courtois, just as was the case with Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega, was the star of the night, with 10 saves and keeping a clean sheet.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti who praised his team’s performance also clarified the goalkeeping plans for the remaining matches.

“The situation is clear among us. We have two games left in La Liga: Lunin will play one, and Courtois the other,” Ancelotti said.

Addressing the future of Toni Kroos and his potential for a Ballon d’Or this year, Ancelotti remained unconcerned.

“No one is worried about Kroos’ future. Our focus is on the Champions League final. The various parts will talk after that,” he stated.

When asked about Kroos’ chances of winning the Ballon d’Or, Ancelotti was candid. “Ballon d’Or for Kroos? I would like it, but he won’t win it.

“Maybe he can, anything can happen. There is the Euros this summer. He could fight for the Ballon d’Or if he wins the Champions League and the Euros with Germany,” he remarked.
